רכבת הלילה

רכבת הלילה (באנגלית: Night Train) הוא השיר הראשון מהעונה החמישית, ומילותיו מוקדשות לעבודת הקטרים במהלך הלילה. השיר מבוסס על נעימת הנושא של רכבת הדואר מהעונה השלישית, המבוססת באופן חלקי על זו של תומס. בהופעה החיה "תומס מציל את המצב" הושמעה גרסה בעלת מילים שונות לחלוטין ללא כל קשר לרכבות לילה, אלא על תומס ופרסי שנכנסים לְמכרה. לימים הועלה השיר המקורי עם קליפ חדש בהנפשה ממוחשבת במסגרת "המסע העולמי של תומס ביוטיוב" ב-30 בספטמבר 2015.

זהו השיר הראשון שלא הופץ במדיה ביתית באוסטרליה.
גרסה מלווה בכתוביות מופיעה בהפצת ה-VHS וה-DVD הבריטית "Peep Peep Party" ובהפצת ה-VHS וה-DVD היפנית "Sing-Along and Stories 3" בלבד.
תקריב על צופרו של אוליבר מהופך.
חלק מהסצנות מהפרקים "סיבוב טוב אחד" ו"הדג המעושן המעופף" נערכו.
השיר נכלל בתסריט המקורי של הסרט "תומס ומסילת הקסמים".
שיר זה והשירים "ניווט" ו"לעשות את זה נכון" הם היחידים שאף מילה בהם לא הוסרה בקליפ ההנפשה הממוחשבת.
