Thomas the Tank Engine Wiki

ÖBB Boxcars are rolling stock used for transporting goods and materials throughout the railways. Their closed design and build allows them to transport goods and materials that cannot be exposed to the outside.

One of these vans made an appearance in the fifth series episodes, "Baa!" and "Put Upon Percy". It was used as scrap set-dressing at Tidmouth. Remnants of a ÖBB bogie appeared in the ravine in the sixth series episode, "Dunkin Duncan".

Technical Details[]

Basis[]

The ÖBB boxcars are based on an Austrian ÖBB type GGm-s four-axle boxcar used on narrow gauge lines. It was a G scale model sourced from LGB, a model train manufacturer.

Livery[]

The ÖBB boxcars are painted brown. The livery of the scrapped van has faded into a rusty red colour.
