Basis[]
The 1-plank trucks are based on real 1-plank open wagons. While, the containers are based on those used on the BR Conflats.

Livery[]
The 1-plank trucks are primarily painted brown with black bracing. Some of the 1-plank trucks used to carry Circus containers are painted yellow, brown and rose red with black bracing.
In Calling All Engines!, a pair of 1-plank trucks used to transport a section of the Sodor Suspension Bridge are painted black.
In the merchandise ranges, they are painted black, grey, reddish-brown, and dark grey with black bracing.
