A Ride for Star! is a magazine story.
Plot[]
Thomas stops at a water tower on his branch line when he sees Star who belongs to Jenny. Next day, Thomas sees a car and horse-box has crashed and Jenny explains the situation to Thomas and his driver. Thomas has an idea and sets off to find Star with Jenny in his guard's van. He finds Star and Jenny's father quickly finds the straw from the horse-box to line the truck. They arrive just in time for the competition. Jenny thanks Thomas and next day, Thomas greets Star who is chomping happily on his carrot and Jenny shows Thomas her silver trophy.
