A Trick on Bill and Ben is a magazine story. It continues the story from Diesel's Race.
Plot[]
After being tricked by Bill and Ben, Diesel realises there are two of them when Duck explains it to him. When Percy and Duck see Diesel wandering about the yards after Bill and Ben leave, they deduce that he is looking to pay them out and agree to keep an eye on him.
Diesel later asks Percy when Bill and Ben will next come to the harbour, to which Percy answers that they will return the following day. Suspicious, Duck asks Diesel not to be mean to the twins, however even when Diesel reassures him that he won't, he and Percy still have their doubts.
The next day, when Bill and Ben return, Diesel explains that the stationmaster has left some extra trucks for them in the yard. Bill goes to collect the trucks, while Diesel convinces Ben to come with him to help with some shunting. Unbeknownst to the twins, they are both at either end of one long line of trucks and, when they try to pull, they end up going nowhere. Diesel, Duck and Percy all laugh at the sight of the twins pulling against each other and the twins eventually join in when figuring out what has happened.
