Abbey is a station on the Peel Godred Branch Line, located north of Cronk. It is an unstaffed halt serving the nearby Cronk Abbey School.

History

The Railway Series

Abbey was built in 1923 as a private station. The land from the Abbey estate needed for the railway was given by the owner, Albert Regaby, Viscount Harwick and Chairman of the NWR, on the condition that a station was provided for his family and tenants,

Abbey Station is normally unstaffed, but at the beginning and end of each term, when special school trains are run, staff are drafted in to cope with the workload.[1]

Thomas & Friends

Abbey Station is a relatively large station, consisting of three platforms, connected by a footbridge, with the eastern platform having the station building.

A statue of the Steam Team is located in a park near the station. The Mayor of Sodor and the Storyteller once opened a library here.
