The American Mine was a mine that Thomas and Ace crashed through when they where in Arizona.

Thomas and Ace crashed through the mine when Ace and Thomas tricked Nia. Beau helped Thomas' crew and Ace's driver to get help while Thomas and Ace stayed in the desert overnight.
