Biography[]
When Thomas took James' trucks to the Ffarquhar Quarry after Gordon advised James to pretend to be ill, the trucks pushed Thomas and he crashed onto an old ferry barge, which floated across a muddy pond and sank near the grass banks where the toad was sitting. After the accident, the toad hopped onto Thomas' valance and went with him to Knapford Yards, looking forward to a ride home.

The Lineside Pond Frogs[]
The Lineside Pond Frogs live in a pond next to the railway line.
Biography[]
When a new section of line was being built along a pond, a group of frogs hopped out of it and went over the tracks. When Thomas brought some workmen home, one of them noticed a frog hopping inside Annie. The workmen tried catching the frog and they showed Sir Topham Hatt, who ordered the frog to be brought back to the pond. After Thomas mentioned the problem of the frogs crossing the new track, Sir Topham Hatt came up with the idea to carve a tunnel through the raised section of track. On the grand opening day of the new line, the visitors noticed the frogs using their new tunnel, which pleased Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt.

Biography[]
After James took on some canal water, he had a strange feeling in his tank that evening. Soon there was loud croaking noise which woke everyone up. James thought he had hiccups, however, Thomas thought it sounded more like a frog. Just then, a frog popped out of James' funnel and he realised that some tadpoles and baby frogs must have entered his tank when he took on the canal water.[1]
