The Famous Artist[]
The Famous Artist is a painter who was once invited to Sodor by the Mayor to paint "The Spirit of Sodor".
Biography[]
Percy was asked to show the famous artist around Sodor so the picture could be painted, however, the famous artist was fussy and complained at the sights, which were Shen Valley, Norramby Beach, the Valley Viaduct, the Tower Windmill and Knapford, where Percy finally lost his temper and told the famous artist off. He then let off steam which blew the beret off the famous artist, who requested to see Sir Topham Hatt. Percy thought he was in big trouble, however, it was revealed that the famous artist was going to paint a picture of Percy for being honest, hard-working, helpful and not afraid to speak his mind, while referring to him as the Spirit of Sodor.

- Michael Brandon gave the famous artist a French accent in the US narration.
- The famous artist's head uses the same mould as the Sodor Airport manager.
- The famous artist's small scale hatless head is on display at the Discover Thomas & Friends Exhibition at Drayton Manor, though it is attached to the body of a carpenter.
- In 2025, as part of the 80th Anniversary celebrations, Mattel would put The Famous Artist's close up model, as well as his tools, up for auction as part of Propstore's Thomas & Friends Online Charity Auction 2025 in order to raise money for the National Autistic Society.[1]

The Sculptress is a well-respected and versatile sculptress. She hosts sculpture shows at her shop somewhere along the Skarloey Railway. One winter, she carved a fish in a frozen waterfall, which everyone loved.

The Ice Sculptor is an artist who creates sculpts from ice.
Biography[]
The ice sculpture once held an open-air exhibition in a park on Sodor. Thomas accidentally melted some of the sculptures, but the sculptor was not cross and, from his next delivery of ice, made a special sculpture of Thomas.

The Artist is an elderly-looking man who often paints pictures.
Biography[]
The artist often paints pictures of things at the Fishing Village, including the ships and holidaymakers. Stephen and Bridget Hatt took his photo whilst trying out their new camera. The artist once painted Arthur when his train was delayed by a points failure.

The French Artistess[]
The French Artistess is a blonde-haired French woman who paints pictures.
Biography[]
When Thomas visited France, he saw the artistess painting scenes from inside a station. She showed Thomas some of her paintings of famous buildings, such as the Eiffel Tower. She even painted a picture of Thomas.
