Atsuo Sugano (菅野 温夫, born on 1947 in Okayama, Japan) is the director of the Japanese dub of Thomas & Friends between the first and eighth series.

- The audition of Japanese voice actors was done mainly by him.[1]
- When Fuji Television submitted the plan of "Thomas and the U.K. Trip" to the Britt Allcroft Company, Britt Allcroft was surprised. Because when she requested to him a storyboard, he completed it in overnight.[1]
- According to producer Yōichi Fujita, Britt Allcroft trusted him very much.[1]
