Back Home is a magazine story. The first part of this story is called Trevor Takes a Trip.
Plot[]
At the harbour, Thomas sees Trevor off as he heads to the Mainland for a traction engine convention. All day, Thomas is thinking about Trevor and what he is doing.
In the evening, Thomas visits the harbour to meet Trevor, but he is not there. The harbour stationmaster explains to Thomas' driver that plans have changed and Trevor will not be back until next week. As he goes back, Thomas tells Annie and Clarabel about it, saying that Trevor might never come back. Annie and Clarabel both reassure Thomas that he will, however he continues to grumble.
At last, the day comes for Thomas to come back and collect Trevor. A crane lowers Trevor onto Thomas' flatbed and, while on the journey, Trevor tells Thomas all about the show. Thomas, still sulking, asks if Trevor made new friends. Not taking notice of Thomas' tone, Trevor explains that he has. Thomas interrupts that he bets Trevor will go back to the Mainland for good, however Trevor says that, while it was exciting, he is glad to be back on Sodor and missed his friends. Cheered up, Thomas tells Trevor that everyone missed him too.
