Beresford is a blue rolling gantry crane who lives on the Island of Sodor.
Personality[]
Beresford is a towering, yet friendly crane who is always happy to help others, even if it means lifting them up high into the air with his hook. He also likes to be ready for any situation he faces, and he often does this by doing warm-up stretches and making sure all of his parts are in good working order.
At times, Beresford worries about doing a big task, but with the right motivation, he is willing enough to take on such tasks, such as lifting Carly and Sandy to rescue Percy after the green tank engine ended up floating in the air with a hot air balloon as a result of getting caught its harnesses.

Beresford is based on a Stothert & Pitt electric rolling gantry crane. Four examples of this crane type are preserved at the M Shed museum at Prince's Wharf, Bristol. Carter from the original television series is also based on this crane.
Livery[]
Beresford is painted dark blue with red and yellow lining and white hazard stripes.
