Plot[]
A storm is heading for the Island of Sodor and everyone is trying to get home as quickly as possible. At Arlesburgh Harbour, Skiff and Captain Joe are busy making sure everything is safe and secure. Skiff and Joe meet up with Oliver and Duck. The two engines warn Skiff to get home as it will not be safe for a small rail-boat to be out in the approaching storm. Skiff is upset; he wants to be helpful, but knows he is not as strong as the big engines.
Captain Joe goes to check on the lighthouse when the storm suddenly hits. A strong gust of wind catches Skiff's sail and causes it to come loose. The powerful wind then blows Skiff along the line.
A tree has fallen across the track in the storm and Skiff, out of control, crashes straight into it. He is stuck, but things get a lot worse when he hears Duck and Oliver heading straight for him. Skiff tries to free his sail so that he can signal for help. He manages it and, thankfully, Oliver and Duck manage to stop in time. Duck and Oliver are very grateful; if Skiff hadn't stopped them, they would have collided with the tree. Skiff feels very proud.
The next morning, the storm has passed and the sun is shining again. While the islanders work to clear up the mess left from the storm, the Fat Controller goes to see Skiff. The Fat Controller praises the rail-boat and Oliver and Duck call Skiff a hero. This makes Skiff feel like the happiest sailboat on Sodor as well as the bravest.
