Background Information[]
Bradford is a fictional standard gauge brake van created by Lee Pressman.
Bradford first appeared in the twentieth series episode Bradford the Brake Van, which first aired in 2016, and last appeared in the twenty-second series episode Samson and the Fireworks.
Bradford is voiced by Rob Rackstraw (UK/US) in the CGI version of the series on both sides of the Atlantic, respectively.
Bradford is based on a standard LMS 20 ton brake van.
Behind The Scenes[]
CGI Model[]
Bradford's model was originally created from scratch by Nitrogen Studios as a standard faceless LMS 20 Ton Brake Van, which first appears in the 2012 special Blue Mountain Mystery. The model was "hand-sculpted" in Maya, a 3D animation and modeling software.
For Bradford's introduction in the twentieth series, the model was retextured and given a face by Arc Productions. Two lamps were also added to Bradford on either side of his front end; these were reused from Toad's CGI model.
