Brian David Sibley (born 14th July 1949 in Wandsworth, England) is an English biographer, author and radio personality. He is most known for writing documentaries and biographies for books and radio shows, including the "Harry Potter" series, the "Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" series, and Disney. He is also known for working at BBC Radio.
He wrote The Thomas the Tank Engine Man, the biography of the Rev. W. Awdry, both in book form and as an early program for BBC Radio 4, as well as contributing to the television documentary of the same name. The book had been out of stock for years after its publication, however an updated edition was published in May 2015 by Lion Books to coincide with the 70th anniversary of The Railway Series. After Awdry passed away on the 21st of March 1997, Sibley wrote an obituary of him for The Independent. He also wrote an afterword for the Thomas the Tank Engine Treasury book in that year.
He is also known for bonus features in recent releases of Disney films on DVD and Blu-ray.
