"Bulgy's Bridge" is the nickname given to a bridge on the Little Western that Bulgy once got stuck under and damaged.

History[]

The bridge is the second bridge south of Haultraugh station. In 1968, after tricking the passengers into thinking he was a railway bus, Bulgy became wedged under the bridge while attempting to use a shortcut to reach Tidmouth before Duck. Bulgy was later removed from underneath the bridge after Duck took the passengers home.[1]

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • According to a sign seen on the bridge, it has a clearance height of 14' 9". This may have been inspired by the real incident which inspired the story of Bulgy, where a trolleybus became stuck under a bridge with the same clearance height.[2]
