During his time in Australia, a bushfire began in The Kuranda Rainforest and Thomas helped to evacuate the animals as he brought them to the safety of Cairns station.

The station is redressed from Dryaw.
Concept art reveals that the station was actually based on Tarcoola Station in South Australia and Regatta Point Station in Tasmania, rather than Cairns station itself.
