Cannonball Curve is a mountain with a railway line which spirals around the side until it reaches the peak. It was here that Thomas, Percy, Nia, and Kana pretended to be a roller coaster,[1] and where Kenji damaged his skirt.[2]
History[]
Thomas and Percy once had to carry a submarine down the mountain to Vicarstown. However, it proved to be difficult, so they had to enlist the help of Harold to finish the job.[3] Kana also once humiliated herself in front of Farona and Frederico when she derailed on the sharp curves. When the Sodor Cup race arrived, Kana worked with Thomas to carefully go down the curves and win the race, whilst Farona and Frederico ended up derailing.[2]
During Christmas, Thomas brought Percy, Annie, Clarabel and Bruno here for the annual Christmas tour, getting creative and renaming the mountain Christmasbell Curve to fit in with the tour's theme.[4]

Trivia[]
- In early promotional material, the side of Cannonball Curve is purple and has more exposed rock. In the final releases, however, it is grey near the top and green at the bottom, with grass covering large parts of it.
- The inspiration for Cannonball Curve was Devil's Back from The Railway Series which Rick Suvalle wanted to bring to screen, but the word “devil” was not desirable for the younger viewers.[5]
- It used to be called "Crazy Coaster Mountain" in the Thomas & Friends version of Magical Tracks, but in the All Engines Go version, it was Cannonball Curve.
