Capture the Flag is a magazine story illustrated using images from the All Engines Go series.
Plot[]
One day, Thomas is extra excited. It is the day of the Train Day Festival and all the engines are going to get special flags to wave. Percy has to deliver all the flags and Thomas decides to help him. Percy wants to take his time to prepare himself for his deliveries, but Thomas is in a rush, worrying they might get stuck behind Annie and Clarabel in the parade. Percy agrees to get started, but in his haste, he drops Nia's flag.
Thomas and Percy set about delivering the flags to the engines all across the island. It's all going well until they get to Nia and discover that her flag is missing. Nia is upset; without her flag, she cannot do her special dance move in the parade - the Piston Pop!
The three engines decide to backtrack and find Nia's flag. Percy, Thomas and Nia go back to all the engines they had delivered flags to, but none of them had seen Nia's. Finally, they spot it on Diesel's truck. Diesel doesn't realise he has it and speeds off, thinking they are playing a game of engine tag.
Eventually, the flag blows off Diesel's truck, but it gets snatched away by a seagull. Nia is dismayed and Thomas and Percy both apologise for being in such a rush. Then, Thomas has a bright idea. He suggests they make Nia a new flag and he knows just where to look.
The three engines head to the Maintenance Yard where Sandy, Thomas and Percy get to work finding materials to use for a new flag. When it is finished, it looks marvellous and Nia takes her place in the parade.
