Thomas the Tank Engine Wiki

Christmas Greetings is a magazine story.

Plot[]

Christmas is drawing near and the engines are very busy rushing around between all of the brightly decorated stations. Thomas has his usual branch line duties but also the nightly post train as well. There is so much post that a daytime train is scheduled and is pulled by Edward. When this proves too much for the old engine, Percy is asked to help him out.

One day, Percy's driver has a laugh over the fact that one sack of post they just delivered is almost entirely full of Christmas cards for the Fat Controller. The engines do not usually get Christmas cards but Percy and Edward think it would be wonderful if they could. Gordon points out that, one year, his driver had decorated the cab with the cards he had received. Percy and Edward think this is a great idea.

The next day, Percy and Edward tell their drivers their idea and they agree. Later, another delivery for the Fat Controller arrives. The Fat Controller admits that, while he is very pleased to receive them, he has no more room in his office to hang up more cards. He does, however, suggest having the cards hung up in the shed and that is exactly what the engine crews do. The engines are very pleased to have such a smartly decorated shed.
