Convertibles is a board book. The pages in the story, The Grand Opening, can be folded out at once to create a playmat. The other side of the book features sides of Thomas that can be assembled to create a large Thomas which can sit a person in the middle.
Plot[]
A new station at Elsbridge is opening, and Thomas and Percy have been asked to take the cake and balloons to the grand opening event. On their way, heavy snow falls, and the two are worried they will not make it to the opening on time. Thomas asks Percy to blow his loud whistle to alert the others that they are on their way. Finally they make it to the station at Elsbridge, and Thomas tells the newspaper reporters that Percy saved the day.
