Crosby Washdown is the main washdown on the North Western Railway in the television series. It is located on the Main Line close to Crosby Tunnel.
The washdown area contains a single-road engine shed as well as a water tower and a workman's hut, located on a dedicated siding. James frequents this location as he loves to be polished.
