Crovan's Gate Yards

Crovan's Gate Yards is a shunting yard located near the Skarloey Engine Sheds.

History[]

The yards contain both standard and narrow gauge tracks, with the works shed in the middle and a roundhouse on the far side. The buildings in the yard all follow a similar crenellated style to the main station at Crovan's Gate. The Main Line passes by one side of the yard.

When Rheneas returned from the works after an extensive overhaul, he was unloaded here to a chorus of cheers. Later, Rusty spoke to Douglas here about finding an engine to run on the Bluebell Railway. When Stepney left the North Western Railway, it was here that the engines gathered to see him off.

When Peter Sam's slate trucks fell off the Old Iron Bridge, Sir Topham Hatt punished him to work here indefinitely until he learned not to leave trucks breaking away.

The set of Crovan's Gate Yards was redressed and heavily modified to create the Vicarstown Goods Depot in the fourth series episode, Rusty to the Rescue.
