DC Comics is an American comic book publisher founded in 1934, best known for their characters, consisting of superheroes, supervillains and other figures. In 2015, the company collaborated with Mattel to create a line of Minis featuring DC Comics-themed engines.
Several waves and sets featuring these characters were released, with two San Diego Comic Con packs featuring exclusive engines to promote the line coming out in 2015 and 2016. Additionally, two animated promotional videos were released which featured Thomas and his friends imagining they become superheroes and supervillains. Another promotional video was released as the eleventh episode of the Thomas Creator Collective.
