Don Spencer was a director for Thomas & Friends. He directed sixteen episodes of the eighteenth series while David Stoten directed the other ten. He also directed The Adventure Begins, nineteen episodes of the nineteenth series (sixteen as a solo director, and three with Dianna Basso) and the 4-D attraction, Bubbling Boilers for Arc Productions. He departed the studio in May 2015.
