Duck, re-titled Duck the Great Western Engine in 2011 and No Nonsense, Duck! in 2015, is the twenty-first book in the My Thomas Story Library series.

Plot

Percy is pleased when a new engine called Duck comes to help in the yard, but the bigger engines order the two engines about. The Fat Controller soon puts a stop to that and later sends Duck to work on his own branch line.

Trivia

  • This book is based on the stories, "Duck Takes Charge" and "Donald's Duck" from the Railway Series books, Percy the Small Engine and Oliver the Western Engine.
  • The Small Railway, which was only featured in The Railway Series at the time, is mentioned.
  • This book once came free with a Thomas Magazine.
  • Even though in the television series Donald and Douglas stayed black, in this book, Donald's paint is blue, like it was in The Railway Series.

Goofs

  • In the last illustration, Donald does not have a tender, since a coach is coupled right behind his cab.
