Dynamite for the Quarry! is a magazine story.
Plot[]
While Diesel is shunting some trucks for him, Percy notices a metal box marked "Danger!" inside the brake van. Diesel tells Percy that it is dynamite and teases him for being scared of it, saying that he will be sent to the scrap yard if he accidentally blows it up. Percy wants to refuse to take it, but Diesel teases him again, saying that the Fat Controller will scrap him if he does not do his job.
As Percy leaves the station, he goes slowly and is very careful not to bump the trucks in case the dynamite explodes. Percy is relieved when he sees the quarry, however he hits a bump and is spooked when he hears a loud bang. His driver laughs and explains that the dynamite Percy is carrying is safe, as it does not have a detonator attached. Percy is cross that Diesel played a trick on him.
