Edward, Gordon and Henry is a magazine story based on the episode of the same name from the first series of the television series.

Plot[]

Gordon is proud of being the only engine capable of pulling the Express and one day he is pulling the Express and approaches Henry's Tunnel intending to whistle at him but just before he reaches the tunnel he bursts his safety valve right outside Henry's Tunnel and right in front of Henry too. Edward is sent by The Fat Controller to try and push the train, but cannot. Upon Gordon suggesting that Henry should try, the Fat Controller lets Henry out of the tunnel so that he can pull the train. He and Edward manage to pull the train so well that the Fat Controller cheers for them until his hat falls off his head and into a field. Later Edward and Henry help Gordon home, and Henry is rewarded with a new coat of paint.
