Edward and the Campers is a magazine story.
Plot[]
One of Edward's favourite jobs is pulling passengers on his own branch line. There are plenty of beautiful sights to see. One day, Edward sees two young people from the mainland on the platform. They are each carrying big backpacks with plenty of supplies. Edward's driver explains that the two passengers are campers.
Edward continues to make his way down the line. The campers get out at the station near the woods and follow a trail away from the station. The next day, Edward passes the woods again but this time, there is smoke coming from the trees. Edward's driver thinks it is a campfire but soon notices there is too much smoke for it to be one and must be a forest fire. The alarm is raised at the next station.
Harold soon arrives, carrying a big water tank and begins to put the fire out. The campers explain that they had accidentally forgotten to put out their campfire properly. A policeman arrives and reminds the campers to be more careful. Edward is pleased that Harold was able to help save the woods.
