Edward and the Vicar is a magazine story.
Plot[]
One day, Edward stops by the vicarage orchard to say hello to Trevor. Trevor is very excited as the Vicar is holding a grand fête to raise money for the children's hospital and will be putting up posters about it. Edward wishes he could help with the event but he can only stick to his rails. His driver reminds him that working for the railway is his own way of being helpful.
Next day, when Edward sees him again, Trevor is looking disappointed; the vicar had forgotten to put up the posters for the fête! Edward gets an idea and - with The Fat Controller's permission - the posters are pasted to Edward and his coaches.
Edward's passengers see his posters and are intrigued by the fête and decide to go there. By evening, the fête was a success and Trevor was kept very busy. The vicar thanks Edward for his help and Edward is happy he had a chance to be helpful.
