Edward in the Wind is a magazine story.
Plot[]
It is a cold and windy Autumn on Sodor. Edward is feeling very chilly as he works. His driver suggests having Edward wear a scarf but Edward scoffs and thinks The Fat Controller would not approve. Edward is at least glad that the wind has been coming from behind him for most of the day.
When Edward finishes his passenger run, his driver puts him in a siding and goes on his lunch break. The siding is by an old elm tree and Edward suddenly begins to hear a creaking noise. Edward can see one branch swinging back and forth in the wind and thinks it is going to fall. Unfortunately, he can not back out of the way or whistle as he has no driver.
A huge gust of wind hits and it suddenly causes the branch to fall down right on Edward's boiler, denting it slightly. His driver returns and is very surprised to see the dent but promises Edward it will be fixed as soon as possible.
Characters[]
- Edward
- Sir Topham Hatt (mentioned)
Trivia[]
- Edward’s driver joking about giving Edward a scarf is similar to Thomas doing the same with Percy in the third series episode, A Scarf for Percy.
