- "Come on, slowcoach!"
"Better to be slow and safe!" - ― Duncan and Rusty
Elephants and Engines is a magazine story, illustrated using photographs from the television series.
Plot
The engines on Sodor are very excited; they are helping to build a new park. Duncan, who is always in a hurry, has finished his jobs first, so the Fat Controller instructs him to deliver an elephant to the park. Duncan is surprised to see that the elephant is only a statue, so he decides to leave without a brake van. Soon, Duncan speeds up, but he cannot stop and the statue flies off his truck and into the lake at the new park. The Fat Controller is furious with Duncan but, when the other engines arrive, they cheer - everyone likes the elephant statue in the lake and that is where it stays.
