Background Information[]
Elsbridge Viaduct is a fictional bridge near Elsbridge on the Island of Sodor created by the Rev. W. Awdry.
The viaduct first appeared in the first series episode Thomas and the Guard, which first aired in 1984. Its last appearance was in the first series episode Thomas and Bertie, which was also released in 1984.

Elsbridge Viaduct was originally built for the first series of the television series, as a 16-by-20-foot set for a 1:32 scale. The model used for Elsbridge Viaduct is in fact the Viaduct on the Main Line, repainted into a more reddish colour and without the lower halves of the bridge's piers.
