  • In the book, Sir Topham Hatt says that the surprise party is at 8 o'clock which is in the evening. However, it is still daytime when the party starts.
  • Neville is falsely illustrated with grey, spoked wheels. His prototype, the Bulleid Q1, was built with "Bulleid-Firth-Brown" wheels.
  • Knapford Station is incorrectly depicted with one big canopy instead of four separate ones.
  • James is incorrectly illustrated with his number 5 on his cab in one illustration.
  • Rosie is incorrectly illustrated with four boiler bands instead of three and has red wheel rims instead of light grey. She is also missing her front cab windows in one illustration.
  • Rosie is shown to be at Tidmouth Sheds despite her not being apart of the Steam Team.
  • Sir Topham Hatt refers to the musicians as "The Marching Band" despite them not being referred to as such in the book.
  • Tidmouth Sheds is incorrectly depicted with only three births instead of seven. They also appear to have the same design as Tidmouth Yard Sheds.
