Farmer McColl is a farmer who owns a farm on Thomas' Branch Line. He also owns the field across the line from the farm and a field along the Main Line. Toby enjoys visiting him, his farm and his animals.
Biography
Farmer McColl owns a loyal and friendly sheepdog named Katie, along with several other animals, which include sheep, cows and a prize cow, pigs, chickens and ducks.
Farmer McColl is good friends with Farmer Trotter. He relies on the Fat Controller's railway to distribute his produce. He regularly attends many of Sodor's events including country fairs where his animals go on show.
Personality
Farmer McColl is a friendly and responsible man who is deeply dedicated to his farm. He loves his animals very much and enjoys seeing the engines of Sodor. However, he can be strict and stern when work does not go to plan or when the engines cause havoc around his animals.
Attire
Farmer McColl's attire consisted of black boots, brown trousers and a cream woollen jumper with a green overcoat over it. He wore a grey flat cap.
In the CGI series, Farmer McColl wears a green flat cap instead with his jacket changed to a hoodie.

- In the magazine stories, Farmer McColl owns a prize pig and a bull named Hector.
- In the My Thomas Story Library book, The Spring Surprise, Farmer McColl owns a green land rover with a tan canvas roof.
- Farmer McColl's small scale figurine used to be on display at Drayton Manor. It was put back on display in late 2023 alongside his close-up figurine.
- Farmer McColl's last name has often been misspelt as "McCall".
