The Official BBC Children in Need Medley is a medley of songs released by the BBC Children in Need charity. It was written and created by Peter Kay.

Lyrics[]

Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
If you look around
The whole world's coming together now,
Every healthy smile is hunger and strife for another child
Now tell me
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
All the children of the world should be
Lovin' each other wholeheartedly.
Yes it's alright, take my message to your brother and tell him twice
Now tell me
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it!
If you wake up and don't want to smile,
If it takes just a little while,
Open your eyes and look at the day,
You'll see things in a different way.
Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don't stop, it'll soon be here,
It'll be, better than before,
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.
Jai Ho, don't you look back
Jai Ho, don't you look back
(Jai Ho) You are the reason that I breathe, (Jai Ho)
You are the reason that I still believe, (Jai Ho)
You are my destiny,
Jai Ho! Uh-uh-uh-oh!
(Jai Ho) No there is nothing that can stop us (Jai Ho)
Nothing can ever come between us, (Jai Ho)
So come and dance with me,
Jai Ho! (oohh)
I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down
I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down
I get knocked down
But I get up again
You're never going to keep me down,
Never forget where you're coming from
Never pretend that it's all real
Someday soon this will all be someone else's dream
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na, Hey Jude!
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na, Hey Jude!
So throw those curtains wide!
One day like this a year see me right!
So throw those curtains wide!
One day like this a year see me right!
So throw those curtains wide!
One day like this a year see me right!
So throw those curtains wide!
One day like this a year see me right!

Trivia[]

  • This was the first Thomas & Friends contribution to a Children In Need appeal, the second being Share a Selfie For Children In Need! in 2018.
  • Ringo Starr, the original narrator for the first and second series, voices Thomas in this song.
  • The single's cover is based on The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album (of which, Ringo Starr, who voices as Thomas in this song, was a member of the band).
    • The single also features the fifth track "Hey Jude" by The Beatles.
    • The Thomas model used on the album cover is from a promotional image from the seventh series, which was mirrored on the cover.
  • The second track in the cover album would have its name reused for a song in the twenty-third series.
  • Thomas' CGI face is animated by Nitrogen Studios, though at the beginning of the song, he wears his content face mask from the model era. This was the last time his content face was used and ever seen.
  • The final music video that used Thomas' gauge 1 model and the Fat Controller's close-up figure.
  • Most of the music video's animation was done by Chapman Entertainment.
  • The music video takes place at Silver Hatch Race Track, the main setting for the Roary the Racing Car TV series.
    • It also reveals that Silver Hatch Race Track has a railway line serving it.
  • The hat used for the Fat Controller is the same model that appeared in the fifth and seventh series episodes, Lady Hatt's Birthday Party and The Grand Opening.
  • As the Thomas & Friends engine models were never made for stop motion animation, Thomas does not appear at the end of the song.
    • It can be noted that the Thomas model featured in the music video would appear disproportionately sized if compared to the characters' puppets.

Goofs[]

  • In both shots of Thomas singing "Jai Ho" with Roary the Racing Car, his lamp is tipped backward, his brake pipe is crooked, and his front coupler chain is on his middle lamp iron.
  • Nitrogen Studios is incorrectly credited as "Studio Nitrogen".
  • In the first shot of Thomas, the end of the set is visible.
