Trivia

  • Due to the fact that the model was never seen after the fifth series, it can be assumed that it was destroyed during the transit back from Canada after Thomas and the Magic Railroad filming wrapped up.
  • The model used for the Mail Boat is recycled from a fishing boat that appeared in Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends' sister series, TUGS.
  • In the fifth series, its funnel was repainted blue.


Coast Guard

Coast Guard is the name of a small vessel that once resided at the seaside town of Arlesburgh. Its model was recycled from the Coast Guard that appeared in Thomas & Friends' sister show, TUGS. In the third series, the Coast Guard's model appeared to remain mostly unmodified and even retained its original name on the rear of its hull, however he was given a different mast and his name was removed from his bow. In the fourth series, the model was repainted grey and was heavily modified.

Katherine

Katherine is the name of a small shrimper that once resided at Lakeside, Brendam Docks and the Norramby Fishing Village. Katherine's model was recycled from one of the shrimpers that appeared in Thomas & Friends' sister show, TUGS, with some modifications, like her megaphones removed and her superstructure repainted from red to white.

Jacqueline is the name of a small fishing boat that once resided at Lakeside, Tidmouth Beach, Knapford Harbour and the Fishing Village.

  • Jacqueline's hull was recycled from one of the Shrimpers that appeared in Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends' sister series, TUGS. It was then modified with a new wheelhouse.
  • In Something in the Air, Jacqueline's wheelhouse was seen on a schooner (also from TUGS).

Old T. is the name of a small self-propelled barge that once resided at Lakeside and Knapford Harbour.

Carmen II is a tuna fishing boat which can be seen at Tidmouth Beach, Norramby Fishing Village and Norramby Beach.

AC. 3929

AC. 3929 is the name of a fishing boat that once resided at Norramby Fishing Village, Brendam DocksArlesburgh Harbour and Harwick.

AC. 3929 is painted white and light blue. The bottom of the hull is red.

  • AC. 3929's model is an off-the-shelf Marie-Ange coastal fishing trawler manufactured by New Cap Maquettes with the name removed from the wheelhouse.[1]
  • The model was put on display for the Clearwater Events in August 2021 and 2022 and for the Tugs Exhibition Spring Event in 2023.
  • The Wooden Railway Sodor Wharf features an illustration of AC. 3929 on the side, however it is instead given the registration number CT. 1113.
  • When the boat returned in the CGI series, it had lost its registration plates.
  • In Journey Beyond Sodor, two duplicates of AC. 3929 were seen at the Mainland canal.


The Dove


The Dove is a fishing trawler which can be seen at Norramby Fishing Village and Arlesburgh Harbour.

Basis

The Dove is based a trawler built at Boulogne circa 1920, which was in turn based on the British Castle & Mersey boats.

Livery

The Dove's superstructure is painted white, while its hull is painted black on the top half and red at the bottom. Its funnel is red with a black stripe at the top.

  • When the boat returned in the CGI Series, it lost its name.


EF 431


EF 431 is a fishing smack which can be seen at Norramby Fishing Village and the runby bridge that carries the Loop line over the river Tid at Callandale.

Technical Details

Basis

EF 431 is based upon a French sloop that worked in the Bay of Brest, multiple kits and models have been produced of the real EF 431.

Livery

EF 431's superstructure is painted brown, while its hull is painted light grey with a blue trim along the top, and a black bottom-half, a thin black line runs through the middle of the grey portion of the hull. Its sail is dark blue.
