Violet is a steam trawler, who regularly delivered fish to Tidmouth Harbour for the North Western Railway. The fish would be loaded onto The Flying Kipper.

- Violet never appeared in any of The Railway Series stories, but were in Awdry's model railway scrapbook, as part of the Awdry Study at the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Tywyn, Wales, United Kingdom.
- Violet was built by Reverend W. Awdry's brother, George Awdry.
- Violet, alongside a coastal steamer named Nancy, were featured on the Reverend W. Awdry's layout of The North Western Railway.
