Biography[]
When Gordon's whistle was jammed, two fitters climbed up onto his boiler and knocked his whistle valve back into place with a hammer.
When Class 40 visited the North Western Railway, a fitter made adjustments to Class 40's engine while an inspector looked on.
Uniform[]
An engine fitter's uniform consists of blue trousers, a black tie and a white shirt with a blue jacket over it. They wear brown overalls and peaked caps.

Daisy's Fitter[]
Daisy's Fitter examines Daisy every week before the latter starts work.
Biography[]
When Daisy was new to the North Western Railway and refused to pull a milk tanker, she told everyone that it was her fitter's orders and stated that her fitter arrives every week to examine her. According to Daisy, her fitter told her not to pull and that pulling was bad for her swerves, though this turned out to be an excuse so Daisy would not have to pull the milk tanker.
