For All the Marble is the thirty-second episode of the second series of Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go.

Plot

When a precious marble statue of his great-grandfather arrives, Sir Topham Hatt enlists the help of Thomas and Bruno in delivering it to Vicarstown Plaza. During their journey, Thomas disregards Bruno's suggestions by doing what he thinks is best -- but his actions cause the statue's top hat to begin to crack!

  • The episode title is a reference to the saying For All the Marbles.
  • For unknown reasons, Cartoonito On Demand released the episode 2 days early on 15th May 2023, instead of its set broadcast date of 17th May.
  • This episode marks:
    • The first time the North Western Railway is referred to by name in All Engines Go.
    • Edward's only appearance in the second series.
  • Gordon's line "Great gears!" is reused from the first series episode, The Real Number One.

Goofs

  • James is shown to be stuck in the traffic jam scene. However, seconds later, he is seen puffing the other way hauling a train of tankers.
  • In the first shot of the traffic jam, Henry's lamp and rear buffers are missing.
  • Edward, Henry, and James blow their whistles in the traffic jam scene, but no steam is emitted from them.
  • When Gordon approaches the crossing, the white on his running board is missing and his lamp is on the wrong side of his footplate.
