Fun and Bumps is a book containing two short stories.
Plot
Fun and Bumps
Fergus is a good little traction engine. Today, he is working at the quarry with Bill and Ben. He tells Thomas the exciting news. But at the quarry, Bill and Ben want to have fun instead of working. Bill bumps the trucks and Ben blocks the tracks, leaving Fergus annoyed. Later, the twins fetch a rock crusher from the docks. Fergus warns them to go slow but the twins do not listen and start a rockslide. Fergus gets trapped by rocks, leaving Bill and Ben to feel guilty. Eventually, with their help, Fergus is free.
Tracks to Fix
Rusty is a diesel engine. One day, Rusty is given a job to fix tracks. It is a big job so he brings Skarloey and Rheneas along with him. But the job is very hard and the engines decide they need a lorry to help. Luckily, Elizabeth arrives and soon the job is complete. Sir Topham Hatt congratulates their effort.
