- “I'm fed up!"
"You're always fed up. What's wrong with you today?”
- ―Bulstrode and Salty
One day Salty notices that Bulstrode is grumpier than normal. Bulstrode tells him that every few minutes he gets soaked with big waves. Later, Salty is to take the Fat Controller and his grandchildren to the seaside to fish. But when they get there the tide is out so they cannot do any fishing. Then they hear Bulstrode laughing, and he explains that his hull is full of fish from the waves, tickling him. The Fat Controller has an idea, and he and the grandchildren catch all the fish out of his hull. Bulstrode is thanked, and the Fat Controller has him cleaned and moved further up the beach so he does not get wet anymore.
