Gordon's Special Coaches

Gordon's Special Coaches are a pair of indigo express coaches which were gifted to Gordon after he broke a speed record.

Emily was sent to collect the coaches and deliver them to the ceremony at Knapford, but Diesel stole them and hid them in a siding in retaliation for her brushing off his own record.^[1]

Technical Details

Basis

Gordon's special coaches are both based on SR Maunsell composite coaches, albeit with no corridors and a shortened body. The green and red express coaches share the same basis.

Livery

Gordon's special coaches are painted indigo with a gold and red stripe along the sides beneath their windows. Their roofs are white with black vents.

Trivia

The models used for Gordon's special coaches were originally constructed for the seventh series episode Gordon and Spencer as Spencer's coaches, but were dropped in favour of Spencer using the Special Express Coaches. They were later reused as Gordon's coaches in the tenth series.
While they do not appear in any scenes from the final versions of the episodes, several behind the scenes photographs show that Gordon's special coaches were in the yard by Tidmouth Sheds during filming of the twelfth series.
The models of both of Gordon's special coaches are currently on display at the Discover Thomas & Friends Exhibition in Drayton Manor.
