Gordon Gets the Giggles is the seventh episode of the twenty-third series.
Plot
Rebecca is getting into accidents in the yard: getting herself covered in honey after bumping into a truck full of honey jars, almost colliding with Thomas, and bumping into trucks of fruits and vegetables, which end up covering her. Thomas laughs at her accident, which Rebecca also sees the funny side to. Even Gordon cannot help but laugh, which surprises Thomas and Rebecca, but he attempts to cover it up as he leaves.
While pulling the express, Gordon cannot help but laugh constantly. He attempts to control himself, but just keeps laughing. Thomas sees him laughing, to which Gordon attempts to explain that he thinks he has something wrong with his boiler. Thomas thinks so too and advises Gordon to go to the Steamworks to get it fixed.
Gordon still keeps laughing and even rushes through a level crossing to get away from Rebecca. He becomes even more worried when he thinks that the Fat Controller will make him be a clown if he does not stop laughing. Once he gets to the Steamworks, Victor tells Gordon that he is fine and there is nothing wrong with him. The Fat Controller then assures Gordon that he will not be replaced and that it is good to have a laugh sometimes, which Gordon agrees. All present then begin a chorus of laughter, which ends when a passenger on the express requests a ride home.

- Going by production order, this is the sixth episode of the twenty-third series.
- This episodes marks a few things:
- Mr. Bubbles' first speaking role since Bubbling Boilers, as well as his first speaking role in an episode since the fifteenth series episode, Up, Up and Away!
- Victor, Kevin, and the Sodor Steamworks' only appearances in the twenty-third series, as well as Kevin's last appearance, not counting his dropped appearance in Mines of Mystery.
- The first episode with Gordon's name in its title since the seventeenth series episode, Gordon Runs Dry.
- The second episode where Gordon has an involuntary problem he can do nothing about, the first being in Squeak, Rattle and Roll.
- James' last non-speaking appearance in the original series.
- Apart from giggling and laughing, Kevin doesn't have dialogue in this episode.
- The only time that Thomas narrates the episode is at the end. His only narrating line is "So, Gordon went to get help at the Steamworks."
