Hank, retitled Hank the Giant Engine in 2011, is the fifty-ninth book in the My Thomas Story Library series.
Plot
Thomas meets Hank and mistakes him for being cheeky. Hank tries to show that he is a strong engine, but this leads Thomas into trouble and Hank has to help him back to the shed in time for the welcome party.

- This book is based on the twelfth series episode, Heave Ho Thomas!.
- Unlike the original story the welcome party takes place at Tidmouth Sheds instead of Knapford.
Goofs
- In some illustrations, Hank's side rods are out of alignment.
- In the first illustration, Percy is missing his side rods.
- Hank is missing his fly crank.
- The boiler stripe behind Hank's smokebox is painted red instead of gold.
