Henry is working late, and Edward tells him the story of a ghost who appears at full moon. Henry scoffs at the story and sets off with his goods train, but has to slow at an amber signal, and after seeing a light flickering at a station and a coat discarded on a tree branch, Henry's crew decide to turn back. The next day, they are shocked to discover that a nearby bridge was unsafe and would have collapsed if they'd tried to cross. They try to deliver the goods again that night, but as the trucks see a flickering light they become scared and surge forwards, plunging into a ravine. A few minutes later, Old Bailey the fogman arrives on a handcart and reprimands them for not heeding his warnings. Henry and his crew are sorry, and to thank him for saving them they reopen his station.

Haunted Henry is the eleventh episode of the fifth series.

Plot

One evening, Henry is working late with Edward when an owl hoots. Edward warns Henry that when the owl hoots, a mist will roll in soon and a ghost will appear. Henry scoffs at the story and sets off with his goods train, but is surprised when a mist does roll in. He has to slow down at an amber lamp and after seeing a sign saying "Beware of the viaduct", a closed crossing gate, a red signal, a coat discarded on a tree branch and a light flickering at a station, Henry's crew decide to turn back.

The next day, they discover that a nearby viaduct was unsafe and would have collapsed if they had tried to cross. Later, Henry's driver informs him that the viaduct has been repaired and they can try to cross again that night.

Henry is getting prepared to leave with his train that night when he gets spooked after hearing an owl hoot and Gordon speed by, which leads to the trucks teasing him.
