Hay Fort Frenzy is a magazine story illustrated using images from the All Engines Go series.
Plot[]
One day, Carly and Thomas go to McColl's Farm to find Terence. They can't see him anywhere until he jumps out from behind a pile of leaves. Thomas gives Terence the urgent message that Sir Topham Hatt needs a delivery of hay for the Mainland. Terence is so delighted to have such an important job, that he leaps up in joy. Thomas departs to fetch James to help him pull the hay while Carly starts stacking bales ready to be loaded onto flatbeds.
Just as Carly finishes stacking the hay bales, Terence appears and smashes them all down. At first, Carly is understandably annoyed, but then she realises that Terence just wants to have fun while he works. Terence then shows Carly his machine for turning the loose hay back into bales. Carly and Terence have lots of fun building up and smashing down piles of hay bales. Presently, Carly makes an extra large hay bale tower and Terence runs straight through it, leaving a hole.
Thomas and James arrive to pick up the hay. They are most surprised to find the trucks have not been loaded yet and even more surprised when the giant hay bale tower falls on them. Luckily, both Thomas and James see the funny side and the four of them work quickly to load the flatbeds. In no time at all, Thomas and James are on their way with the urgent hay delivery. Sir Topham Hatt is very impressed and James says there's time in any job to have a little fun.
