Henry's Tunnel, is a two-bore tunnel on the Main Line which Henry once stopped in.
History
The tunnel first got its nickname when Henry stopped in it and would not come out so as not to get his paint wet. After exhausting all other options, the Fat Controller walled him in the tunnel and he watched other engines rush through the new tunnel.[1] He was later let out when Gordon burst his safety valve while pulling the Express.[2]
When the Circus Train came to Sodor, an elephant escaped and blocked the tunnel, so Henry had to take some workmen to clear it.[3]
Following a large storm, Nelson took Oliver the excavator to help clear the tunnel.[4]
While painted in a pink undercoat, James - much like Henry before - hid in the tunnel, though eventually came out.[5] Thomas also once hid in the tunnel after lying about an accident, until being forced out when Spencer came in behind him.[6]
