Technical Details
Basis
Henry in All Engines Go is a mix of Gordon's rig combined with elements of his original appearance.
In his first appearance, Henry is simply recoloured from Gordon, leading the two to share the same loose appearance of an LNER Gresley A1, albeit with a 2-6-2 wheel arrangement closer to that of a V2. Though likely unintentionally, this mimics Henry's old shape in the original series, which has a similar appearance to Gordon.
Since his first appearance, Henry has been incrementally modified by the animators to more closely resemble his more common post-rebuild appearance, which is based upon an LMS Stanier Black Five, though still retains many features of Gordon's base model, such as the running board shape and 2-6-2 wheel arrangement.
Livery
Henry is painted green with red lining on his cab, splashers, tender, cylinders and boiler and yellow lining around his windows. His number (3) is painted on his tender in yellow with a red outline. His bufferbeams and valences are red. His running board is white at the front, however becomes red once it reaches the top. His dome is also yellow.

Trivia
- Henry is one of three returning engines from the original series not to speak or be referred to by name within the main All Engines Go series itself, the others being Edward and Duck.
- Henry, along with Edward, was referred to by name for the first time in any All Engines Go media in the Meet the Engines book.
- According to Rick Suvalle, the show staff always hoped Henry and Edward would be able to speak, and included them in episode plans, but the production crew would always give Henry and Edward's lines to another character who had already been cast, mainly due to the expense of hiring new voice actors.[1]
- Henry's #3 digit is reused for Bruno.
- Henry's face is identical to Gordon's aside from the green eyes and longer nose.
