Icon Productions is an American film production company. They have a subsidiary in the UK and Australia for distributing films, known as Icon Film Distribution.
History[]
Icon Productions was founded in 1989 by Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey, and produced films, including One Eight Seven, Airborne, and We Were Soldiers.
Icon Film Distribution acquired the British and Irish distribution rights to Thomas and the Magic Railroad from Destination Films in June 1999.[1] and released it theatrically the following year. Their home video division, Icon Home Entertainment, released the film on VHS and DVD through Warner Home Video, although later releases would be released solely by Icon.
Other films they distributed include Kevin & Perry Go Large, Mary and Max, Fairy Tale: A True Story and Postman Pat: The Movie.
